Qualified Instructors
GM Chris Tinsley is an active practitioner of Combative Kenpo Jiu-Jitsu, a modern reality based street fighting system of real time self-defense. Mr. Tinsley is currently a 4th degree black of the arts and head instructor at Tinsley kenpo Jiu-Jitsu. Mr. Tinsley is also a career firefighter, advanced life support provider and graduate of Southwest Virginia Community College. All of our instructors are dedicated to teaching realistic combative Kenpo Jiujitsu. A system based on the concepts and principles of American kenpo Karate mixed with real time combative strikes and grappling to create the most effective and practical street style combative art. Strikes are delivered immediately to vital areas whether it be defensive or offensive to end an attack immediately.
Tinsley Kenpo Jiu-Jitsu is its own entity and is not associated with any other martial arts organization. Our students are tested and promoted from within our organization by a board of association black belts.
Our Philosophy
Our goal is simple. We want to help you be prepared to protect your life and the lives of your loved ones. Many of today's martial arts instructions are geared towards tournaments, flashy performances and fighting with rules. We train for reality because there are no rules or judges in the streets. Our students do perform in tournaments and are encouraged to do so. This is primarily in self defense and sparring for the building of confidence and experience in confrontation. The most common reason for losing a fight or confrontation is the lack of ever having one. This experience is necessary in the goal we are trying to reach. We train for life, not points and trophies!
